Hello Alberto, I've recently tried both your setup options, and the official SMC drivers for my SMC 2632W-V2 card. I'm just writing to let you know the problems I'm having with the card, not to get support, just to inform you. ;-) I'm currently running SuSE 8.1 running the 2.4.19-4 kernel. The problem I'm having is that when I insert my wireless card, the computer completely locks. No messages, no errors, no noise, it just completely freezes to the point where I have to do a hard-reset. I haven't been able to figure out what's causing the problem, as it never even makes it far enough to write errors to any logs :-( I'm really rather disappointed in SMC for not supporting the Linux community better than they are. I bought my SMC card on a reccomendation from someone else. However, they're using the previous model SMC that uses the old chipset, not the new AMTEL chip. I fear that SMC is just supplying a pre-compiled and packaged version of the drivers AMTEL released, and I fear that the AMTEL drivers maybe aren't compatible with the 2.4.19 kernels? I don't know if you've gotten any feedback from anyone using a 2.4.19 kernel with these drivers. If you have, and they've been successful, I'd be interested in knowing how they got it to work. Anyhow, thanks for your time. Again, I just wanted to inform you that this might be a problem to note on your site. -- Preston Kutzner | IT Manager Marketing Resources, Inc. pkutzner(at)mrichi.com If I traveled to the end of the rainbow As Dame Fortune did intend, Murphy would be there to tell me The pot's at the other end. -- Bert Whitney
